Why can’t I just use Weebly’s built-in “Title” element for H1 tags?
Weebly’s standard “Title” element typically outputs an H2 tag in the HTML — not an H1 — and the heading levels are not user-selectable. This means you have no control over the H1–H6 hierarchy that search engines read to understand your page’s topic and content priority. How many heading tags can I add to one page?
You can drag as many SEO Headlines widgets onto a page as you need — one for the H1 page title, multiple H2s for major sections, H3s for subsections, and so on. Each widget instance has its own independent settings panel, so each heading can have a different level, text, font, color, and border style.
Can I style individual words within a heading differently?
No — each heading widget applies a single font size, font family, and color to the entire heading text. If you need individual words in different colors or sizes, that requires CSS customization outside the scope of this app. For most SEO use cases — where the goal is properly structured H tags, not per-word styling — this is not a limitation.
I see some older 1-star reviews — is the app reliable now?
The negative reviews are almost entirely from early 2017 when the app transitioned from a free version to a paid version. The old free version used an invalid HTML technique that was deliberately sunset, which caused headlines to disappear for existing users during the upgrade — understandably frustrating. The current version (v1.0.4) was rewritten with a completely different approach. Installation issues mentioned in those old reviews have been resolved, and the app now includes all the styling and font customization options that earlier users requested. The two 5-star reviews from 2017 and 2018 reflect the experience of fresh installs of the current version.
Why is there a box border around my heading by default?
The default heading widget includes a visible border. To remove it, open the settings panel and change “Border Style” to “None.” This will hide the border entirely, leaving just the clean heading text on your page. The border options are otherwise fully customizable if you prefer a styled heading box.
